Listen to music, especially new/unfamiliar music – check out the lists of new music, sign up to Bandcamp, see who is playing at festivals and check out some of the bands, listen to bands that other people like, give it a try

Read – always have a book on the go, maybe even 2 (one fiction, one non), even a few pages a day adds up. If you need to know where to start: ask me for a recommendation! Or read something you know you loved.

Move – find something you like to do and do it as often as you cam. Or just go for a walk. Stretch every day

Breathe slowly – once or twice or more times a day – pause, get comfortable, check in and take 3 long, slow, deep breaths

Have fun – have a hobby or two that’s not social media/TV and do that as often as you can; see your friends, be silly

Be a noob – go somewhere new, meet new people, try something you’ve never done before, be a bit shit at something, anything

Masturbate – day dream, fantasise: enjoy your pleasure; think about how to give more back

Say thank you – gratitude practices can seem twee but nothing is better for you than paying attention to your health when you have it, your friends, your home, your partner or solo life. Even when things are tough there is the sky and the moon and the tree in the road. Pay attention. It will help, I promise
