As it’s been a while since I posted any new writing here, I felt like it would be useful to post an update on Alethya and my own work. I also wanted to say a big thank you to all the people who’ve reached out with comments and feedback on the words and ideas here on the site and to encourage you, dear reader, to get in touch if you have questions or feedback. My email is anita.cassidy@alethya.com.

From a personal perspective, I was unwell for much of 2022 and into the spring of this year. You can read more on midlife challenges and mayhem here. I’m happy to discuss my experience of peri-menopause with people one to one so do ask if you’d like to. I’ve also been very busy raising my two teenagers. Being a (mostly) solo-parent to a pair of neuro-diverse kids is demanding as well as rewarding and much of my emotional and creative resources have been getting used in this part of my life. And, whilst he may have not felt like it recently, my boyfriend is also the vital centre of my world and deserves much more of my time and attention. I’m very lucky to have him in my life.

From a work perspective, I completed my Post Graduate certification in Gerontology back in the spring of last year (gaining a Distinction which was very pleasing!). I was also happily busy with my coaching practice.

With regards, Alethya, there have been a few new pieces of writing but, mostly, I’ve been journalling around the more challenging aspects of my emotional life for the last twelve months and have found that to be very helpful. Even simple notes and scribbles can be useful for processing as can drawing and other creative work. I encourage you to try things out for yourself if you’d like.

I deleted the mailing list and newsletter as I was receiving a lot of spam and much of the list was inactive. You’re always welcome to email me if you would like to be pointed in the direction of useful words or resources.

This website is very important to me and will continue to be developed and grown over time.

I continue to read and dig deep into ideas and will likely share a recent/current reading list soon. That’s an easy way for me to share where my thinking is at and offer suggestions for resources that are useful and support all of our growth.

Now that I am well, I’m working on a new creative project and will hopefully have more updates on that soon!

Wishing you all the best
